Mesopristes elongatus : ウィキペディア英語版 | Mesopristes elongatus
''Mesopristes elongatus'' is a species of fish in the family Terapontidae known by the common name plain terapon. It is endemic to Madagascar, where it occurs in several rivers along the eastern coast. Its populations are thought to be decreasing due to habitat loss and degradation, which is accelerated by the siltation caused by deforestation.〔Loiselle, P. & participants of the 2001 CBSG/ANGAP CAMP ''Faune de Madagascar'' workshop, Mantasoa, Madagascar. 2004. (''Mesopristes elongatus''. ) In: IUCN 2012. IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Version 2012.2. Downloaded on 26 June 2013.〕 This is a freshwater fish that sometimes enters estuaries. It is caught for food, and may be sold in local markets.〔Froese, R. and D. Pauly, Eds. (''Mesopristes elongatus''. ) FishBase. 2013.〕 ==References==
